Meet the Roguedivers

Who are the Roguedivers? Unlike the Chaosdivers and other factions, Roguedivers are not politically motivated or mainstream throughout the galaxy.
A Roguediver is usually a Helldiver who was left behind—intentionally or unintentionally—by his squad, the former as punishment for disobedience or as a death sentence from Super Earth in a milder form than outright execution.
When it comes to desertion, Super Destroyers are fast enough to eliminate AWOL soldiers; however, in very rare cases the deserters manage to escape.
Survival on hostile planets is extremely hard, and that is precisely what earns these scavengers legendary status in the wastelands.
You can find them on uninhabitably barren worlds or precariously coexisting with Terminids as skilled survivalists and hunters. The other alien factions (Automatons and Illuminates) do not tolerate them, because they employ mind-control technology and AI sensors that sooner or later detect the intruders.
Roguedivers, although not aligning with any faction, they may temporarily assist human squads, of any faction. They can appear during missions as bounty hunters or good samaritans before disappearing back into the shadows. They never help aliens or cooperate with them in any way.
Because of their nomadic and apolitical nature, they do not inhabit space stations. Their largest spacefaring vessels are medium-sized voyagers that traverse the stars, acting as merchants and visiting trading ports.
The largest known Roguediver settlement is rumored to be on Fenrir III, a planet Super Earth wrote off as “strategically valueless” and abandoned years ago. Wrecked Hellpods and half-buried Super Destroyers litter the equatorial sands; Roguedivers simply call it “the Graveyard” or “Dry Dock.”
The most daring ones, however, are found in Tarrak’s Reach on the edge of the galactic east—a canyon-carved ochre desert situated too far from supply lines for SEAF to bother with a permanent garrison. The few remaining locals tell stories of “ash-cloaked pilgrims” who trade stimms for water-purifier tabs and vanish before sunrise.
Finally, the truly legendary mavericks—or simply the unluckiest—are solitary figures hiding in jungles, swamp planets, wastelands, arctic worlds, or even the perpetual twilight of the Gloom. Some whisper of an ultimate legend: a lone Roguediver somehow still alive on one of the Terminid capital hive worlds, killing Hive Lords single-handedly to this day.
