The return of the Cyborgs

It has not been long since the “Red Squadron” settled in Cyberstan. Its members have been issued their own quarters and have taken the initiative to establish the very first human volunteer camp of its kind.

They have also created their own ranks:

Red Marshall Karlsen

Red Captain Yurco

Commisar Khaled

Commisar Kai

Commisar Andreu

Red Cadet Torin

Suffice it to say that every member of this pioneering squad of human volunteers has received cybernetic enhancements and augmentations of all sorts: brain implants, vision and hearing upgrades, and more.

The squad has earned the trust of the Automatons and has been formally accepted into Cyberstan’s party hierarchy.

Automaton High Command has issued them their first major assignments:

  • Devise a propaganda plan to bring more humans to the cause. Actions include broadcasting recruitment messages and conducting search-and-rescue operations for human militants and civilians defecting from Super Earth.

  • Re-establish the Cyborg Legion, beginning with yourselves: transcend the flesh and become true cyborgs with a flesh-to-steel ratio of less than 30 %.

  • Oversee and defend the secretly colonized magma worlds from Super Earth aggression.

The squad has landed on the magma planet Mox, a volcanic lava world where the Automatons have established their first mining rig and are testing the project’s viability and long-term sustainability.

Red Marshall Karlsen to Red Captain Yurco:
"The party's ingenuity never ceases to amaze. Even in hell itself, they still prevail."

Red Captain Yurco:
"Indeed Comrade Karlsen. It demonstrates resilience and great innovation. The question is: how to defend it? If we have to remain here for long periods of time, our bodies won't endure the heat."

Red Marshall Karlsen:
“Yes, Comrade. We stand at the same paradigm shift our predecessors faced a century ago—and the conclusion remains unchanged: the flesh is weak.”

Red Captain Yurco:
“So we are all to transcend toward the singularity?”

Red Marshall Karlsen:
“Not exactly. Four of us will. The other two will retain most of their humanity in order to provide feedback and to better communicate and resonate with potential human recruits.”

Red Captain Yurco:
"Roger that Comrade. My body and mind are ready to serve the needs of the Party."

Commisar Kai joins the conversation:
"It shall be an honor, sir."

Shortly after this exchange, four of the six squad members underwent full transformation into cyborgs. The probability and nature of side effects remain unknown.
