Character backstory: Chaos Intelligence Officer Lyra

Before the SES Liberty Probe Mutiny, Lyra Vance took an passive role in letting disobedience occur, and did not assist Democracy Officer Heilstedt in finding out who is a dissident or not.

She instead focused on collecting info on the source of the hallucinations on the ship along with the scientists and cryo-technicians team.

Her placement in the space recon mission was of course not random, but a result of algorithmic manipulation from afar by the Automaton hacker units, aka "The Curators".

And that is because Lyra was a dissident earlier than anyone else in the crew; she was an avid follower of the Vera Libertas radio and even engaged in small acts of vandalism during her youth against the municipality in her district.

She was never caught or identified thanks to her prowess. However growing up she changed her views and because of her IQ she decided to join Super Earth's Secret Service, reporting directly to the Ministry of Intelligence.

After personal research regarding Super Earth's practices she started doubting its benevolent intentions. Her views changed again and she began to have her reservations with High Command, but cunningly never uttered a word to anybody, as she knew the moment she would do so, she would be booted out of the service and straight to a Democracy Officer for loyalty examination.

The Automaton Singularity, detected her regular signing in to the weekly Vera Libertas online radio. Confirming that she was a listener to the latter way before its discovery by High Command and consequent order for her department to monitor it.

During the mutiny onboard, Lyra took an active role when the mob formed. The anarchist inside her woke up and she joined the ranks of the insubortinate crew charging to the Democracy Officer's pistol and Ship Commander.

That was the only time she ever took an uncalculated risk, but the title "Hero of the Revolution" was woth it.

Shortly after she picked and vetted the most suitable Chaosdivers and crew members to assemble her Intelligence team, right before she steps forward as volunteer for Commander Kael's infiltration plans in Whispers of Chaos.

She flawlessly executed Operation Black Echo and managed to survive the Tibit Rebellion and Liberation of Afoyay Bay.

After the latter her luck became unknown and we do not know if she got captured by Super Earth's incoming Hammer of Justice fleet, or if she fled to the corners of the Galaxy after the Rebel planets were reclaimed by Super Earth, or if she died in one of the heavy bombardments that commenced.

Her espionage competence was legendary and she gained the title "Ghost of the Revolution" by the Chaos Brotherhood's leadership.
